California Press Foundation's 2026 Internship Grants Program
Now Accepting Applications
Apply by: Nov. 30, 2025

Ready to take the next step in your journalism career?
The California Press Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Internship Grant Program.
Up to seven outstanding college or university student journalists will each receive a $3,000 grant to support an internship at a California news organization. In addition to grant funding, recipients gain access to mentorship, professional development and placement support through the Cal Press network.
Students are responsible for securing their own internship, which may take place during the Spring, Summer or Fall 2026. Internships must be full-time for at least six weeks, though part-time placements can qualify if the duration is extended.
To apply, submit your completed application by Nov. 30, 2025. Finalists will be notified in late December 2025. Students should be prepared to participate in a brief interview that month.
