Meet Julia Torres, a recent journalism graduate of California State University, Northridge, and one of the students the California Press Foundation is supporting this year through its Internship Grant Program.
Julia is making the transition from classroom to professional newsroom through an internship with Melodic Magazine, a digital and print publication covering artists, albums and the latest news surrounding music.
"Melodic Magazine is thrilled to have Julia Torres as part of our Summer 2026 Journalism Internship," says Melodic's Founder and Director Victoria Goodwin. "She has been a great addition to our team."
During her time at CSUN, Julia served as the news editor of The Daily Sundial, the university's award-winning student-run multimedia publication. In that role, she oversaw campus coverage ranging from policy changes to breaking news.
Julia is committed to community-centered reporting and to producing accurate, impactful journalism for the communities she serves.
