      Five Are Finalists For Internship Grant

      Five students have been confirmed for California Press Foundation internship grants in 2023.

      The students, who demonstrated an exceptional interest in pursuing careers in the news business in California, each will receive a $2,500 educational grant when they begin their internship.

      The students are required to pursue and secure the internships on their own at CNPA-member companies. Internships, which can occur in spring or summer, must be full time and last at least six weeks.

       

      The 2023 newsroom internship finalists, emails, hometowns and colleges are:

      Courtney Andrade, Modesto, CSU Stanislaus

      Brenda Elizondo, Los Angeles, CSU Fullerton

      Alyssa Phillips, Marina, CSU Monterey Bay

      Hannah Shields, Anaheim, CSU Long Beach

      Sonora Slater, Grass Valley, UC Davis

       

      Applications are accepted each Fall from full-time 3.0+ GPA college sophomores, juniors or seniors pursuing news, advertising or marketing careers.
